Yousif Mirza : Champion of UAE
Khor Fakkan native claims national title for record 11th time
Yousif Mirza successfully defended his crown as National Road Race Champion of United Arab Emirates, taking home the title on the 87km circuit in Kalba City in Sharjah.(Photo credit: UAE Cycling Federation)
The 32-year old outsprinted a reduced group featuring his national teammates to take the crown and defend his title he also won in 2020.
Mirza: “It was a great race, with the biggest number of competitors in the history of the championships. It shows cycling is growing and the level of competition is getting higher. It’s a nice win for me and for the team also. To claim an 11th title is a huge honour for me. I hope I can continue to inspire the next generation of young riders in the UAE and that we can continue encouraging people to get involved in this beautiful sport.”
