A young UAE Team Emirates protagonists in 1st Adriatica Ionica
The Emirates formation, a young group, present at the new international stage race was always active in all five stages during the this week.
In the first stage, a team time trial, a fast UAE Team Emirates recorded the second best time, showing the abilities of the Italian riders. From that group of Italians, Simone Consonni, who recently won a stage in the Tour of Slovenia, showed well by finishing second, sixth and seventh in the three sprint stages.
Valerio Conti and Simone Petilli rode superbly over the last week as well, always in control for the team. And Edward Ravasi finished fourth in the queen stage, but was hit by bad luck with a puncture that didn’t allow him to maintain his podium place in the overall classification. He finished fourth overall today.
These young Italians will now travel to the national championships on June 30 and of course, face the second part of the 2018 season.
