Ulissi climbs to the 4th place of the GC
UAE Team Emirates' Italian rider is 7th in the Willunga Hill queen stage
For the fifth year in a row, Willunga Hill stage is won by Richie Porte.
The Australian rider obtained the success in the 5th stage of the Tour Down Under (151,5 km, start from McLaren Vale) preceding Impey (+8″) and a group of 5 athletes (+10″) in which there was Diego Ulissi too, who was 7th (photo Belingheri/Bettini), 7°.
The first key moment of the queen stage was the approach of the last ascent, when EF Educational accelerated and split the peloton.
On the climb, Porte dropped all the opponents and behind him Ulissi tried several attacks and the obtained a result which allowed him to climb to the 4th place of the GC at 20″ to the new leader Impey.
Only one stage to the end of the Tour Down Under: the flat circuit in Adelaide (90 km), which however could make change in the general classification since the gaps are small and there are riders with the same time.
