UAE Team Emirates-XRG squad unveiled for Challenge Mallorca

UAE Team Emirates-XRG will head to the sunny shores of Mallorca to take on five individual 1.1 ranked race days in the early season event series known as the ‘Challenge Mallorca’.

 
The Spanish Island will host the Trofeo Calvia (29 Jan), Trofeo Felanitx – Ses Salines (30 Jan) , Serra de Tramuntana (31 Jan), Trofeo Andratx (1 Feb) and the Trofeo Palma (2 Feb) where the team will take 9 riders, with a balance of experienced veterans and young talents.

Mallorca has been a successful location for the Emirati team in the past, and they will be hungry for more victories following the impressive start of the team courtesy of Jhonatan Narvaez at the Tour Down Under and Antonio Morgado at the Gran Premio Castellón.

Matxin Fernandez (Sports Manager) : “It’s been a very good start to the season for us so far and the guys are ready and motivated to race.

In the squad for Mallorca we have several riders capable of taking big results – Morgado, Covi and Christen have shown themselves to be in very competitive condition already. It’s a very complete group of riders with youth and experience. Politt, Novak and Laengen bring vast experience and quality, while our Gen Z riders are continuously learning and supporting our leaders at this level. 

 
It’s early in the season still, but as always we are focused on being aggressive from the beginning and aim to add more wins on the board as soon as possible.”

 
Sports Manager Joxean Matxin Fernandez (Spa) along with Sports Directors Simone Pedrazzini (Swi) and Tomas Gil (Ven) will lead the team of 9 riders, with 7 riders starting per day:
