UAE Team Emirates stop the clock 5th fastest in Burgos

UAE Team Emirates showed a promising time-trial display on stage 2 of the Vuelta Burgos in Spain today for the team time trial between Oña – Poza de la Sol (13.1 km ).

The Emirati team were the fastest at the intermediate point, up by +2” on Jumbo-Visma though would bleed time in the final 2 km stretch, finally losing 34” which was good enough for 5th place on the day.

The four final riders averaged a speed of 51kmph and crossed the line together having salvaged seconds to remain in contention for the overall classification ahead of tomorrow’s middle-mountain stage from Sargentes de la Lora to Villarcayo(183km).

Sebastian Molano continues in the green jersey as leader of the points classification following his stage in yesterday.
