Tour de Wallonie: Aru back in the pack

UAE Team Emirates strikes a perfect balance between youth and experience for the short Belgian stage race

Fabio Aru will kick off the second part of his season on the roads of the Tour de Wallonie, a Belgian race covering five stages from July 28 to August 1.

UAE Team Emirates will deploy the Italian climber in a formation that stands out for its mix of youth and experience. Here are the seven riders, who will be led by coaches Bruno Vicino (Italy) and Paolo Tiralongo (Italy):
– Anass Ait El Abdia (Morocco)
– Fabio Aru (Italy)
– Matteo Bono (Italy)
– Manuele Mori (Italy)
– Przemyslaw Niemiec (Poland)
– Simone Petilli (Italy)
– Aleksandr Riabushenko (Belorussia)

Fabio Aru had this to say about his participation in the Tour de Wallonie: “I’m happy that I can wear a race number on my back again; I really want to get back in to the group.
The team and I have decided to add the Tour de Wallonie to my schedule; I will be riding on routes similar to the ones in the Ardennes Classics, which each day will feature sprints, hills and short yet intense climbs. I am sure that I will do a good job, which will be useful as I take on this second part of the season.”
