Team head to Germany for Bemer Classic & Deutschland Tour double

UAE Team Emirates will take-on a big block of racing across Europe with the Bemer Classic (20 August) followed by the the Deutschland Tour (23-27 August) in Germany along with a separate squad of riders at the Renewi Tour  (23-27 August) in Belgium.

Brandon McNulty will lead the teams GC ambitions in Deutschland Tour while Tim Wellens will be looking for success on Belgium roads in Renewi Tour.

McNulty : “I’m looking forward to the races in Germany. The prologue is very short, usually I prefer the longer efforts but I think on the hillier stages we can be aggressive and look for a good general classification result. We also have Ackermann for the sprints and the likes of Ulissi who can win on a lot of terrains so it’s a super solid group.”

Wellens: “ I’ve good memories from this race of course. A race where I always performed well with many podiums in the past and I’m motivated again this year, though the course doesn’t fit me quite as well because the Ardennes stage is missing. The TT will be even more important than last years. But we’re all still very motivated and looking forward to it.”

 
The squad in Germany will be overseen by Sports Directors Fabio Baldato (Ita) with Marco Marzano (Ita) joining for the Deutschland Tour.

The team for Renewi Tour will see Andrej Hauptman (Slo), Marco Marcato (Ita) and Simone Pedrazzini (Ita) all as Sports Directors.
