Swift 5th and Ulissi 9th in Bulle

Fairly good performance from the UAE Team Emirates in the 2nd stage of the Tour de Romandie, Aigle-Bulle, which was shortened of 26 km because of the cold and the rain at the start.

Two riders from the Emirati team succeeded in completing the race in the top 10: Swift was 5th and Diego Ulissi was 9th.

The race was won by Kung (BMC), who preceded the breakaway mate Grivko.
The duo of attacker reached the arrival with 20″ on the main peloton, whose sprint was won by Colbrelli on Edmondson and Swift.

In the general classification, Ulissi is 11th (+14″ to Felline).

Swift (photo Bettini) explained: “Today I felt a lot better and I wanted to give the sprint a try. I could feel my ankle quite sore with it been so cold, but the team did a fantastic job to put me in position. I couldn’t really open my sprint fully as I got pinned on the barrier. I feel I could have achieved more, but it was good for me to be in the front again. Tomorrow there will be another opportunity“.
