McNulty returns strong with top-10 at Dauphiné
American now sits 11th overall
Brandon McNulty has shown a strong return to racing, coming home in 10th spot on Stage 3 of the Criterium du Dauphiné in France today.
The 24 year old stuck with the main favourites on the gradual ascent of the Cat.2 climb to Chastreix-Sancy, and will fancy his chances for a strong result ahead of tomorrow’s time-trial.
Young Juan Ayuso also put in a strong display to stay with the leading group and sits just behind in 13th place on the same time as McNulty.
The day was won by Frenchman David Gaudu (Groupama – FDJ) as runner-up Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) moves into the leaders jersey ahead of the Stage 4 Individual Time Trial from Montbrison to La Bâtie d’Urfé (31.9km).
