Gibbons top-5 in Castilla y Leon
South African sprints from reduced group
Ryan Gibbons took 5th place on Stage 2 of the Vuelta Castilla y Leon in a reduced bunch sprint on the run-in from Coca to Segovia (186.2km).
Attacking racing proving for a nail bitting final few kilometres with Ryan Gibbons placing himself in the moves over the top on the final climb to arrive in the group of 20 or so riders sprinting for 3rd place behind the two riders who arrived in front.
The final stage and overall was won by Eduardo Sepulvelda (Lotto-Dystny).
The racing for UAE Team Emirates continues on Saturday with two World Tour races: the Tour of Poland and the San Sebastian Classic.
