UAE Team Emirates sign Isaac Del Toro for 2024

Mexican talent joins on 3-year deal

UAE Team Emirates continue to strengthen their squad for the future with the signing of Isaac Del Toro who will join the team starting from 2024 for three seasons.

The 19 year old from Baja California has enjoyed a breakthrough year in the under-23 category, culminating in a spectacular overall victory in August at the prestigious Tour de l’Avenir in France.

Del Toro’s cycling story began at a young age where he enjoyed mountain biking,cyclo-cross and road racing guided by his parents who are both cycling enthusiasts.

His 2022 season was disrupted by injury as he suffered a broken femur in a training accident just weeks before the Tour de l’Avenir that season, though he would work hard to come back strongly in 2023 with other notable results this season including third in the Giro Ciclistico della Valle d’Aosta and fourth in the Trofeo Alcide Degasperi to compliment his historic win at l’Avenir.

Mauro Gianetti (Team Principal & CEO) : “We are very pleased and excited to welcome Isaac into the team. At UAE Team Emirates we are a very international team and we are proud to say that Isaac will be the first Mexican cyclist to join us in our history. He is a young man with promising talent and we look forward to seeing him developing both as a cyclist and as a person over the next years with us.”

Isaac del Toro: “It is an honour to be joining UAE Team Emirates. I feel very proud to be welcomed as a part of this great family. It is something incredible to describe and I will give my best over the next years. I have a lot to learn and a huge appetite to start that process and develop within the team. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of to get to this moment and I’m very excited for what the future holds. At the same time I’d like to thank all the people who have helped me in reaching this important objective in my life, and I look forward to sharing with them this new chapter.”
