This Colombian phoenix has always been able to pick himself up and brush himself off. The many falls, injuries and accidents that have befallen him throughout his career are almost as plentiful as the victories he has achieved.
He draws his strength from family values: his wife Carolina and his son Emanuel have given him the strength to climb the highest mountains and overcome several setbacks.
He started racing at the age of 12, when his dad gave him a green bike, a helmet and a racing uniform…he had to withdraw from his first race after a fall. However, race after race his results improved, until they launched him into the world of the pros as one of the most efficient climbers in the pack.
His cousin, Sebastián Henao Gomez, is also a professional cyclist.
