Framework set out for new UAE Team Emirates ‘Gen Z’ team
Exciting project set to launch for 2024
UAE Team Emirates will launch a new development team for next season. ‘UAE Team Emirates Gen Z’ will compete at a Continental level and be geared towards nurturing cyclists of the future from UAE and all over the world.
The young squad will be made-up predominantly of riders in the Under-20 category with an international line-up. The team will count on the experience of Matxin Fernandez to oversee the project as Sports Manager in addition to the same role with UAE Team Emirates.
The Gen Z team, which will share the existing team service course, will benefit from the wealth of shared resources from UAE Team Emirates in terms of using the most advanced support structure as well as access to the best material, coaching and nutrition.
Regarding the foundation of the of UAE Team Emirates Gen Z team , Team Principal & CEO Mauro Gianetti explains:
“We are pleased to announce that we are working to create the Gen Z team to compete as part of the UAE ambition to develop cycling, in support of a global project that started back in 2017.
We are committed to helping young riders on their path into the professional ranks and we are preparing to launch the team next year. The team will consist of predominantly u-20 riders (generation Z) to begin with and they will benefit from the best support structure possible with access to many of the resources available already in our professional team.
In the coming months we will have the definitive framework and we will be ready to present the project. ”
